WEEK 4- Progress Pictures , 'My Direction' and Lecture Reflection

 

 

My plan for the decay of 'the church of light' is to show how plants can grow into concrete and cause structural problems.  The majority of the building will be covered in moss to show how nature is consuming the building.  Half of the building will be collapsed, I don't want totally decay the entire building because I think that is an immature option.  The half of the building which is under decay will be effected by a tree which has fallen on the structure.  I will try and keep some furniture still present in the building to give an idea of what the environment used to be like.  small details like the metal cross, lights and reinforcement poles will be highlighted in the video.

 

Lecture Reflection:

In this lecture we were shown how particular built buildings react to either natural disasters or human destruction. Russell had said that typically in brick buildings they tend to break apart at the mortar joints because all the moisture is gone and they basically turn to sand.
